Dagur Dan Thórhallsson joined CF Montréal on December 10, 2025, from Orlando City in exchange for $500,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) in 2026, plus a conditional amount of $125,000 in GAM in 2027.
He began his professional career in 2016 with Icelandic club Haukar in his hometown before moving to Belgium in 2017 to join KAA Gent’s U21 team.
In 2018, he returned to Iceland to play for top-division club Keflavik, where he appeared in 16 matches and scored one goal.
Thórhallsson secured a permanent transfer to Norwegian top-flight side Mjøndalen IF in 2019. Later that year, he was loaned to Norwegian club Kvik Halden FK, scoring five goals in 12 league matches, before returning to Iceland on loan in 2021 with Fylkir, where he recorded one goal and three assists in 23 matches.
In 2022, Thórhallsson joined Icelandic first-division club Breidablik UBK. That season, he captured his first league title after an outstanding campaign with 11 goals and 7 assists in 40 matches across all competitions. He also made his debut in continental play, featuring in six UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying matches.
In January 2023, he signed with Orlando City. Over three seasons in Central Florida, the Icelandic midfielder played 92 MLS matches, including 52 starts, logging 4,725 minutes, seven goals, and four assists. In the MLS Cup Playoffs, he appeared in eight matches for a total of 681 minutes. He also competed in the Concacaf Champions Cup in 2023 and 2024.
On the international stage, Thórhallsson has earned seven caps with the Icelandic national team. He made his senior debut on November 6, 2022, in a friendly against Saudi Arabia.
