Miami's MLS expansion team owners reportedly met with officials in nearby Doral to explore the possibility of building a stadium for the team.
TheMiami Herald reported last week that members of the ownership group, city officials, an MLS official and the person who currently owns the land in question met to discuss the location's prospects.
According to the report: "'The meeting went relatively well,' [Doral mayor Juan Carlos] Bermudez said at Wednesday's council meeting. The mayor kept his comments brief."
The report comes on the heels of word last month that the Miami ownership group, which includes David Beckham and the Mas brothers, who are local businessmen, were "actively exploring five or so sites," according to Jorge Mas.
Major League Soccer announced in January that the Miami expansion team will begin play in 2020, in a temporary venue. The club is expected to open a permanent stadium in 2021.
