2019 MLS Regular Season – Week 28
Portland Timbers vs. D.C. United
Providence Park – Portland
September 15 – 3:30 PM ET
TV: ESPN
STREAMING: MLS LIVE on DAZN in Canada
After consecutive wins, the Portland Timbers have pushed above the playoff line in the Western Conference, but with three points separating six teams, every point now is precious. The same is true for D.C. United, who sit in fourth place, but are just three points above the playoff line in the East.
The Timbers (13-11-4) scored twice in the final seven minutes to rally from a one-goal deficit and dramatically defeat Sporting Kansas City in a Western Conference six-pointer Saturday night at Providence Park. Benny Feilhaber put Sporting in front in the 65th minute, before Jeremy Ebobisse leveled in the 83rd minute and second-half substitute Brian Fernandez netted the 90th-minute winner.
D.C. United (11-10-9) rebounded in a big way from a three-match losing streak to defeat the Montreal Impact, 3-0, at Stade Saputo Aug. 21. The visitors did all their damage in the opening 32 minutes with Ola Kamara and Paul Arriola scoring three minutes before Kamara netted his second in the 32nd minute.
