Atlanta United 2 announced the signing of Canadian midfielder Noble Okello on Dec. 21, 2023. The Toronto native joined Atlanta as a free agent following a stint with New England Revolution II.
He finished the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro campaign with 12 appearances and one goal after spending the preseason on trial with the First Team. Prior to New England, Okello originally signed as a Homegrown Player for Toronto FC on Jan. 22, 2019, after he joined the club’s Academy in 2013. He made his professional debut with Toronto FC II in 2017 in the USL Championship before making his MLS debut on July 21, 2020, against New England at the MLS is Back Tournament. Okello made a career-high 14 appearances in the 2021 MLS regular season and registered a goal at Nashville SC on June 23, 2021.
On the international stage, Okello has two caps with the Canadian Men’s National Team, having made his international debut on January 20, 2020, in a 4-1 win over Barbados.
2023 (New England Revolution II): MLS NEXT Pro: Appeared in 12 matches and added a goal against Atlanta United 2.
2022 (Toronto FC): Appeared in eight matches.
2021 (Toronto FC): MLS: Appeared in 14 matches and scored his first MLS goal against Nashville SC in July. Okello also added an assist. Canadian Cup: Appeared in three matches in the Canadian Cup, scoring against Ottowa Fury FC in the second leg of the semi-final series.
2020 (Toronto FC): Made his MLS debut in the MLS is Back Tournament against the New England Revolution.
2019 (Toronto FC II): Made 19 appearances and recorded two assists.
2018 (Toronto FC II): Made 22 appearances and tallied one assist.
2017 (Toronto FC II): Made one appearance for Toronto FC II.
INTERNATIONAL: Okello made his Canadian youth program debut in 2016 at the age of 16. He has represented the Canadian U-17 team at the 2017 Concacaf Men’s Under-17 Championship in Panama and most recently represented the U-20 Canadian team at the 2018 Concacaf Men’s Under-20 Championship in the USA.
OUTSIDE MLS: Okello made 12 league appearances on loan for HB Koge in 2020, starting six matches and scoring once. He made 19 appearances for Toronto FC II in the USL League One in 2019 after appeared in 22 matches during the 2018 USL regular season. He made his professional debut on October 6, 2017 against Bethlehem Steel. Okello was invited to Toronto FC’s 2018 pre-season camps in Los Angeles, California and Mexico City.
