Luis Suárez returns to Inter Miami for 2025
TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Extension Inter Miami CF have signed legendary Uruguayan striker Luis Suárez to a contract extension through the 2025 MLS season, the club announced Wednesday.
CURRENT CLUB: Barcelona (ESP)
Luis Suárez is one of the best strikers in the world and was the PFA Player of the Year for 2013-14. His dominant form for Liverpool earned him a transfer to Barcelona two summers ago, where he won the Champions League in his first campaign with the club, scoring the winning goal in the final.
URUGUAYAN NATIONAL TEAM
Suarez started in six of seven games for Uruguay at the 2010 World Cup, gaining infamy for deliberately punching a ball of Uruguay's goal line to preserve victory. He featured again in the 2014 edition where he was subsequently suspended for biting an opponent. Suarez's rap sheet of extreme antics are matched only by his supreme skill.
CLUB CAREER
Suarez played for Nacional in Uruguay and Groningen before joining Ajax in 2007. He scored 83 goals over three and a half seasons with the club. His 31 goals in 2013-14 for Liverpool tied the all-time Premier League record. He transferred to Barcelona after his dominance in England, becoming the first person to break Ronaldo and Messi's dominance over the top of the scoring chart in several years.
