CAREER
2022: After making a welcome return to action in 2022, clinching the Etihad Player of the Month nomination for May after scoring in successive games against Toronto FC and San Jose Earthquakes, Parks’ season was once again sadly hampered through injury. In June, it was announced the midfielder would once again undergo surgery to remove a blood clot in his leg, ruling him out until September. His comeback sparked an upturn in fortunes for NYCFC, as he returned for our Campeones Cup victory and aided our playoff push.Â
2021: Parks first full season at the Club saw him become an ever present in the midfield as he recorded three goals and four assists in 31 regular season appearances. His season was unfortunately disrupted by an unfortunate blood clot that required surgery.
2020:Â NYCFC acquired Keaton Parks on a permanent transfer from S.L. Benfica on a multi-year contract after being an integral member of the NYCFC midfield in 2019.
2019: Parks joined NYCFC on loan and had a slow start to the season. After showing consistency in practice, he became a fixture in the midfield and appeared in 22 matches. He scored a brace in the club’s first Lamar Hunt US Open Cup win, scored his lone MLS goal against San Jose, and recorded an assist in a successful debut season.
HOW ACQUIRED: On loan from S.L. Benfica on Jan 19, 2019
Originally from Plano, Texas, Parks joined Varzim S.C. in Portugal in 2015 when he turned 18 and then signed for Benfica in 2017.
He has since tallied up seven goals and seven assists in his 40+ appearances for Benfica B in the Portuguese second division—LigaPro.
Keaton’s success with the reserves led him to make his senior team debut against Vitória in November 2017 and he would go on to record six appearances across all competitions for the first-team.
INTERNATIONAL: The Texas native returned stateside in May 2018 as he made his U.S. Men’s National Team debut when he came off the bench in the 62nd minute of the 3-0 victory against Bolivia at Philadelphia’s Talen Energy Stadium.
