Davies became the third-youngest player in MLS history, signing a Homegrown Player contract in the middle of the 2016 season. He is a physically strong winger who combines making mature decisions on the ball with a youthful tenacity. He has proven to be an important piece for the Whitecaps in 2018, named to his first All-Star Team as a Commissioner's Pick.
In July 2018, the Whitecaps announced Davies will transfer to Bayern Munich at the end of the 2018 season, for a fixed transfer fee and additional compensation that could total as much as $22 million US, the most ever received by an MLS club in the league’s history.
OUTSIDE MLS:Â Davies began the 2016 season with the Vancouver Whitecaps 2, the club's United Soccer League team. He opened his professional account against then first-place LA Galaxy II on May 15 to earn a Team of the Week selection, setting a new USL record for youngest player to score a goal in league history.
INTERNATIONAL: Davies has been called up three times to Canada's U-15 national team, and once to the U-18 national team in October 2015. He was also called up to the Canada U-20 camp in March 2016, starting in their 2-1 friendly win over England in Doncaster. He made his senior team debut in 2017 and has scored three goals in six appearances for the side as of early 2018. He had an outstanding 2017 Gold Cup and was named to the tournament's best XI.
