The Chicago Fire headed north to Minnesota in search of their first win of 2018 on Saturday (2 pm ET | MLS LIVE; on DAZN in Canada), but they will be without one of their leaders, German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, whose wife is expecting:
Schweinsteiger, a World Cup winner in 2014, returned to Chicago for the 2018 after helping the club return to the playoffs for the first time in five years in 2017. The veteran center mid registered three goals and six assists over 24 appearances in his first season in Chicago, and went the full 90 in the Fire's season-opening loss to Sporting KC.
