It’s not all rest and relaxation for Major League Soccer players this offseason. Some of the league’s best young players have traveled overseas to train with clubs around the world.
A few of the clubs are the biggest in the world, with Arsenal, PSV and Bayern Munich all opening their training grounds for MLS players.

Chicago Fire Homegrown midfielder Djordje Mihailovic — FC Nurnberg
Reports have suggested that the 2. Bundesliga side are interested in a permanent deal for the 21-year-old.- FC Cincinnati defender Andrew Gutman — Celtic
“They’re in season, but they have such a big squad, so the guys that aren’t rostered for games will have training sessions,” Gutman said of his training with Celtic. “I’ll have a good stint of training over there with them just to get back in front of their faces and so them my qualities again.” - FC Cincinnati goalkeeper Spencer Richey — Crystal Palace
Richey went on a 10-day training stint with the English Premier League club at the end of last month, declaring that it would be "an amazing experience.” - Colorado Rapids Homegrown midfielder Cole Bassett — Arsenal
After training with Freiburg in Germany a year ago, Bassett headed for England and the U-23 team of London giants Arsenal for this offseason. - FC Dallas’ Homegrowns Edwin Cerrillo, Ricardo Pepi, Bryan Reynolds, Thomas Roberts — Bayern Munich
Five products of Dallas' famed academy have headed for Germany and the youth teams of five-time European champions Bayern Munich. The 16-year-old, who signed a contract with D.C. on Oct. 3, will get a valuable learning experience with one of Europe's top youth teams. - D.C. United Homegrown defender Donovan Pines — Swansea City
The 21-year-old defender made 10 appearances (9 starts) for the Black-and-Red last season, and a training stint with the Championship side could help groom him for a bigger role in 2020. - New York City FC Homegrown defender James Sands — Fortuna Dusseldorf
Sands is expected to remain with the home of US national team players Zack Steffen and Alfredo Morales until mid-December. - Orlando City SC Homegrown striker Benji Michel — Athletico Paranaense
Michel has headed to the home of jogo bonito and Orlando City's partner club in Brazil. - Vancouver Whitecaps Homegrown midfielder Simon Colyn — PSV
As first reported by MLSsoccer.com, the 17-year-old is headed to the Dutch club for a training stint that could develop into a loan with an option to buy.
