Fatai Alashe may be living in Northern California these days, a midfielder for the San Jose Earthquakes, but he grew up in metro Detroit. And while some of the participants in the series, who are racing in time trials for a shot to drive an Audi R8 for a year, are driving sweeter wheels than others, Alashe's hybrid Ford Fusion is a perfect, ahem, hybrid of his Michigan background and California present.
