The San Jose Earthquakes threw everything but the kitchen sink at the Colorado Rapids in their 1-0 win last Wednesday night, and it's reflected in the nomination of two Rapids players to the latest Save of the Week competition.
Not only did goalkeeper Clint Irwin earn a place for one of several excellent saves, but defender Drew Moor also got the nod for an unbelievable double save on the goalline. Was his desperate effort enough to outpoll his gloved competitors?
Elsewhere, D.C. United's Bill Hamid is on this week's list thanks to a fine block of Jack McInerney's shot, as is Jimmy Nielsen's denial of Will Bruin. And SOTW regular Donovan Ricketts has been recognized yet again for his latest diving stop for the Portland Timbers.
