Defenses dominated Week 3 of the MLS season, with goalkeepers making plenty of top-notch stops to stymie offenses across the league.
San Jose’s David Bingham, Houston’s Tyler Deric, Colorado’s Clint Irwin, New York Red Bulls’ Luis Robles and New York City FC’s Josh Saunders are nominated for MLS Save of the Week, with Deric looking to take home the award for the second-straight week.
Deric is nominated for his sprawling stop on LA’s Robbie Keane, Robles is up for his point blank stop on D.C.’s Chris Rolfe and Bingham is in the running for his denial of Chicago’s Eric Gehrig. The other two nominees come from the same game, with Saunders up for his stop on Rapids DP Gabriel Torres and Irwin nominated for his save on NYCFC star David Villa in the side's scoreless draw at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.
