Newcastle United's new decade probably couldn't have started worse, with US men's national team and former Seattle Sounders wide man DeAndre Yedlin among five of manager Steve Bruce's players picking up an injury.
Yedlin was Newcastle's first injury sub before halftime of a 3-0 home loss to Leicester City on Wednesday. Once on the field, he gutted it out through the final whistle despite likely sustaining a broken right hand, according to manager Steve Bruce.
On a day when the Magpies actually finished the game a man short because of their injury woes, Yedlin was later seen leaving St. James' Park in a sling.
Atlanta United export Miguel Almiron was not among those injured, starting and playing for the duration of Newcastle's third consecutive defeat.
