US Under-20s beat Panama 4-0 to stay perfect at NTC Invitational

A pair of MLS players scored as the US Under-20 national team beat the Panama U-20s 4-0 in Carson, California on Friday night to improve to 2-0-0 at the NTC Invitational.


Real Salt Lake midfielder Danilo Acosta and FC Dallas forward Coy Craft both scored for the US, who also got goals from Wake Forest commit Isaiah Young and Duke forward Jeremy Ebobisse.


Young started the scoring in the 43rd minute, with Acosta and Ebobisse tallying in the 56th and 57th, respectively.

Craft came on in the 59th and rounded out the scoring in the 82nd, tapping Tijuana forward Brandon Vazquez’s square ball into an empty net to make it 4-0.


Acosta, LA Galaxy academy product Hugo Arellano and Real Salt Lake forward Sebastian Saucedo, currently on loan at Mexican club Veracruz, all started the match. Craft and Seattle Sounders forward Victor Mansaray both subbed on in the second half. 


The US, who beat Costa Rica 2-0 on Wednesday, will take on Japan in the NTC Invitational finale on Sunday (6 pm ET; USsoccer.com). The Americans need only a draw against Japan to win the tournament.
