The US U-20 national team played the first of two friendlies against Costa Rica's U-20s on Saturday, beating the Central American hosts 4-0.
Real Salt Lake Homegrown midfielder Sebastian Saucedo scored a brace for the Americans, incoming MLSer Jeremy Ebobisse scored a goal, and the New York Red Bulls' Homegrown midfielder Tyler Adams notched the final tally for the US.
The US U-20s, led by Tab Ramos, are on a weeklong training camp in Costa Rica to prepare for the 2017 CONCACAF U-20 Championship, to be played in the country in Feb. 17-Mar. 5. The U-20 Championship will also be the qualification tournament for the 2017 U-20 World Cup, to be held in South Korea.
Other MLS players who played in Saturday's friendly win include Saucedo's RSL teammates Justen Glad and Danilo Acosta, Orlando City defender Tommy Redding, Seattle Sounders attacker Victor Mansaray and Atlanta United forward Brandon Vazquez.
The teams will meet for a second friendly on Monday, before the US break camp the next day.
