US national team defender John Brooks earned his way back into Wolfsburg's starting XI on Saturday in a 3-2 victory over TSG Hoffenheim.
The victory — thanks to a hat trick from Wout Weghorst that included two goals from the penalty spot — takes Wolfsburg up to ninth in the Bundesliga table. A top six finish is still within reach, with sixth-place Schalke only four points above Wolfsburg in the table.
Brooks had been demoted for Wolfsburg's previous three league matches before making his return at center back Saturday in what was his 15th league start this season.
