Former New York Red Bulls midfielder Tyler Adams transitioned seamlessly into RB Leipzig since arriving last year and it looks like he is there to stay. The club announced on Sunday that the American has signed a contract extension through 2025.
Adams joined the Bundesliga club last January and immediately became a fixture in the starting XI. He went on to make 12 appearances across all competitions during the 2018-19 season despite suffering an adductor injury. That same injury forced him to miss almost the entire first part of the 2019-20 season before he made his return in December. A pulled calf muscle has most recently put him on the shelf, though he is expected back soon. Leipzig currently sit in second place in the Bundesliga behind Alphonso Davies' Bayern Munich.
Adams last played for the US men's national team in March 2019 against Ecuador. Gregg Berhalter's USMNT returns to action next month when the US will face the Netherlands (March 26) and Wales (Mar. 30) on the road.
