Simon Dawkins, who spent the 2011 and 2012 seasons with the San Jose Earthquakes, could be headed back to the US.
The 27-year-old, currently playing with English Championship side Derby County, has been linked with a return stateside, according to a report cited by the Derby Telegraph. Dawkins has struggled for playing time this season, only entering a single cup match to date.
Dawkins, a Jamaican international, scored 14 goals in 53 appearances for San Jose. Although the report does not specify if Dawkins would be returning to San Jose, a league spokesperson confirmed with MLSsoccer.com on Thursday that the Quakes hold the right of first refusal if Dawkins indeed aims to return.
