He's played professionally in seven countries and three different continents, but Uruguayan forward Diego Forlan still has the itch to play in new places.
The forward, who helped Uruguay win the 2011 Copa América, among many other honors in his long career, has been linked with MLS in the past and is now apparently interested in coming to the league.
Forlan briefly discussed his MLS prospects, among other topics, with oDeporte Total USA at the Univision Deportes awards on Sunday in Miami.
"You see on television that MLS is a tournament that attracts attention and the level of football has grown a lot," Forlan said in Spanish. "I still have not had an offer to come but we'll see."
Forlan, 36, has frequently been spotted vacationing in the US in recent years. Currently playing in his homeland for Peñarol, he's previously lined up for Manchester United, Villarreal, Atlético Madrid and Inter Milan. While in Spain, he was the highest scorer in La Liga on two occasions. In addition to the Copa América title, he helped lead Uruguay to a surprise fourth-place finish at the 2010 World Cup.
