After coughing up a 2-0 lead against the US on Thursday, Canada's Under-17 men's national team were hoping to right the ship against Guatemala as they aim to make the World Cup for the first time since 2013.
Toronto FC II player Jayden Nelson netted a hat trick while Vancouver Whitecaps FC academy forward Kamron Habibullah scored a goal of his own to lead Canada to a 4-2 win. Nelson's second and third goals were both spectacular individual runs, with his first coming off a defensive mistake.
Whitecaps first-team forward Simon Colyn was among the starting XI.
Canada enters the final match of the group stage on Monday needing just one point against Barbados to book their place in the Round of 16. Teams who reach the semifinals earn their spots in the World Cup.
