Toronto FC have exercised the purchase option for Auro, who was initially acquired on loan ahead of the 2018 season with an option to buy.
“Auro showed in 2018 that he’s a very capable two-way player and an important part of our team,” said TFC VP soccer operations & general manager Tim Bezbatchenko in a media release. “Auro is an attacking threat on the wing who also puts in solid defensive work. We are excited to get this deal done and ensure Auro is a Toronto FC player as we continue to shape our roster for the 2019 season.”
Auro, 22, made 18 MLS appearances in his debut season, including 16 starts, contributing 3 assists. MLSsoccer.com's Sam Stejskal reported in November that the club was finalizing Auro's return.
