Toronto FC announced on Monday that midfielder Victor Vazquez will miss the rest of the 2018 MLS regular season, after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his knee last week.
The recovery time for the procedure is an estimated six-to-eight weeks, so Vazquez will miss TFC's final three games this year.
The Spaniard, a key figure in TFC's treble-winning 2017 season, scored eight goals and nine assists in 21 league appearances this year, and also played five games in Toronto's run to the Concacaf Champions League final in the spring.
