The US men's national team will take on Ecuador in its first friendly in a full international window under coach Gregg Berhalter on March 21 (8 pm ET | ESPN2, UniMas, UDN), and we now know Ecuador's squad will include three players from MLS ranks.
Carlos Gruezo (FC Dallas), Romario Ibarra (Minnesota United) and Sebastian Mendez (Orlando City) are among those called in for La Tricolor by new coach Hernan Dario Gomez, the same man who steered Panama into the 2018 FIFA World Cup ahead of the Americans.
All three have played in both MLS matches for their clubs this season, With Gruezo going all 180 minutes.
While Berhalter called 15 MLS-based players into his squad, none of the Ecuadorian trio will be facing an MLS teammate.
