It was a wild Week 9 in MLS, stuffed with midweek games, goals, drama and one beautiful stadium-wide rendition of Wonderwall.
It's time for a little look-in at Stock Up, Stock Down:
Stock Up
Jeremy Ebobisse
The Timbers have steadied the ship in recent weeks, with two straight wins. Ebobisse has scored the winning goal in each of those contests.
His latest was an explosive diving header against Toronto FC on Saturday. He now has four goals in seven starts this season, all on the road as Portland await their home opener on June 1.
Romain Metanire
Metanire has flown a bit under the radar since being signed, acquired between Ozzie Alonso and Ike Opara, and quietly soared as a loan.
After another incandescent display up and down the right touchline at Allianz Field, with a game-winning assist while helping keep two shutouts this week, the Madagascar international is forcing himself into the national conversation.
Zakaria Diallo
The only game Diallo has missed for the Impact this season? Montreal lost 7-1. In the six games since, the club have kept five clean sheets, including two in a perfect Week 9 for the Impact, who are tied for first in the Eastern Conference.
Stock Down
Fredy Montero/Joaquin Ardaiz
Between the pair, the presumed top two Vancouver center forwards have one start in the club's last three games. Between the pair, they have one goal in 727 minutes in 2019.
Montero and Ardaiz haven't had the best starts to the season. A lot of games left, though.
Pity Martinez
Similar to the Whitecaps' newcomers, Martinez hasn't had a great start to 2019. The 2018 South American Player of the Year arrived in Atlanta with a big price tag and bigger expectations but has 0g/0a in 294 minutes.
Martinez showed frustration when substituted in the club's 1-0 win over the Colorado Rapids on Saturday.
Christian Ramirez
Not exclusively because of the missed sitter -- as ESPN's Taylor Twellman said on the broadcast, it happens to everyone -- but Ramirez has had an extended opportunity as LAFC's undisputed center forward in Adama Diomande's injury absence but hasn't won the job. Whenever Dio returns, Ramirez will likely head back to the bench.
