This week's MLS awards have a distinctly blue tint. Sporting blue.
Goalkeeper Andy Gruenebaum has earned the Week 31 MLS Save of the Week award for his best work in Sporting Kansas City's 2-0 win over the Chicago Fire last Friday, bookending the AT&T Goal of the Week honors won by his teammate Graham Zusi.
Gruenebaum's close-range reaction save kept Friday's contest scoreless, setting the stage for goals from Zusi and Dom Dwyer to secure a win that books KC's fourth-straight playoff campaign. It's the first SOTW gong for Gruenebaum this season.
He and his Sporting colleagues return to action on Saturday night with a visit to the Philadephia Union (7 pm ET), a match which can be viewed online thanks to fans voting it as their choice for MLSsoccer.com's Stream of the Week.
