Sporting Kansas City have signed defender Nicolas Hasler, the club announced Tuesday. Hasler was waived by the Chicago Fire last week to free up an international slot for Nicolas Gaitan.
Hasler, 27, is a Liechtenstein international. He has made 37 appearances in MLS since joining in 2017 between Toronto FC and the Fire, adding three goals and four assists.
He won six major trophies with FC Vaduz in his native Lichtenstein and was named Player of the Year for his country in 2015, 2017 and 2018.
Hasler joins the club days after it was announced Homegrown defender Jaylin Lindsey would miss 4-5 months with a torn meniscus.
SKC are next in action on Thursday in the semifinals of the Concacaf Champions League against CF Monterrey (10 pm ET | Univision, YahooSports.com).
