TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Re-signed

Harry Shipp will be back with the Seattle Sounders in 2020.

The club announced on Wednesday that the midfielder has re-signed, remaining with the Sounders for a fourth consecutive year. The 28-year-old started 15 of his 25 regular-season appearances in 2019, recording five goals and three assists. He figures to fill a reserve/spot starter role again for Seattle.

"Harry has been an important member of our team the last few years and we are happy to bring him back for 2020," said Sounders FC GM & president of soccer Garth Lagerwey in a statement. "He provides steady, consistent play and is a good veteran presence in our locker room."

Shipp came to Seattle via trade from the Montreal Impact in December of 2016 and has been a key contributor for Brian Schmetzer's club, starting 41 of 62 regular-season appearances over three seasons and tallying 10 goals and seven assists. Part of Seattle's 2017 MLS Cup runner-up squad and this past season's MLS Cup championship team, Shipp has appeared in five postseason matches for the Rave Green (starting three), recording two assists.

Prior to coming to Sounders FC, the Notre Dame product spent three seasons with Chicago and Montreal, playing in 93 games while recording 12 goals and 17 assists, and was a finalist for 2014 AT&T MLS Rookie of the Year.
