Cascadia Cup meetings between the Portland Timbers and Seattle Sounders are always dates on the calendar to circle for MLS tifo afficionados. Sunday night's meeting was no exception.
Sounders fans unveiled a giant, four-piece display before the first MLS tilt of 2019 between the longtime rivals.
With a not-so-subtle jab at the Timbers' namesake, the display references Seattle's lengthier list of honors won between their history in the NASL, A-League and most recently MLS.
Since joining the MLS in 2009, the Sounders have won one MLS Cup, one Supporters' Shield and four U.S. Open Cups. The Timbers, who joined MLS two seasons later, have also won an MLS Cup, but not matched the other trophies.
