The Seattle Sounders will be without one of their most important players when they travel to Real Salt Lake this weekend, as head coach Sigi Schmid told reporters on Wednesday that Brad Evans will miss Saturday’s trip to Rio Tinto Stadium after suffering a shoulder injury in Sunday’s loss to Sporting Kansas City.
Evans hurt his left shoulder in the 87th minute of Seattle’s opener, rising for an aerial challenge and then falling on it after a collision with SKC forward Dom Dwyer. He was subbed off three minutes later.
Schmid said Evans is week-to-week with the injury. Veteran defender Zach Scott will likely fill in while Evans is out.
