The Seattle Sounders and Vancouver Whitecaps will meet at least five times this season after they were drawn together in this fall's CONCACAF Champions League group stage, and their respective goalkeepers are getting a head-start on those matchups with a tight battle for the Week 13 MLS Save of the Week prize.
So far, Seattle's Stefan Frei is in the lead with 29.82 percent of the vote for his save on Mike Grella on Sunday. But Vancouver's David Ousted (23.33 percent) is not far behind for his fingertip save on Javier Morales on Saturday.
Perennial SOTW contenders Nick Rimando (18.67 percent), of Real Salt Lake, and Tyler Deric (15.37 percent), of Houston, are getting plenty of votes, as has New York Red Bulls goalkeeper Luis Robles, who finds himself an unlucky fifth with 12.81 percent of the vote.
These numbers will change, however, and there's still time to make sure your voice is heard! Cast your ballot in the poll at right.
Voting runs until 11:59 pm PT on Thursday. For complete coverage of the MLS Save of the Week – including an archive of all of this season’s nominees and winners – click here.
