In a Monday video interview with ESPN FC, New York Red Bulls goalkeeper Luis Robles made it clear that his team is set on silverware, starting with the Supporters' Shield that may hinge on Sunday's showdown with Eastern Conference rivals Atlanta United (1 pm ET | ESPN - full TV & streaming info).
"For us, in the locker room, it's a huge deal," Robles said to ESPN host Alejandro Moreno. "Anytime you can add some silverware to the mantle, you want to do it, right?"
Robles noted, "We've won it twice, and for me, I thought it was a huge accomplishment, personally. Of course, MLS Cup is always going to be the top one, but when you look at your season, you can at least point to that, you had sustained success throughout the season, and you like to think you had a good team. Now of course for our organization, the talking point is always MLS Cup, and we feel really confident that this is the year for us."
Robles and Moreno also discussed the effect of RBNY's midseason coaching change on the team's trophy aspirations and the boost their early-season CCL run has given them as they navigate a busy 2018 campaign. You can check it all out over at ESPN FC.
