The US national team are set to add two more headline opponents to their 2018 schedule.
US Soccer is finalizing arrangements to play Brazil and Mexico on home soil during September’s international window, ESPN FC reported on Thursday.
The two friendlies will take place between Sept. 3 and 11, at two US venues which have not yet been decided.
Currently led by interim boss Dave Sarachan, the USMNT are expected to have a new head coach in place by September, and have already lined up matches vs. England and Italy in Europe in November.
Mexico-US is one of the most heated rivalries in international soccer and this fall’s occasion would mark their 68th meeting.
The USMNT have faced Brazil 18 times in total, losing 17 of those, the only win an upset victory in the 1998 Gold Cup. Their last clash with the Seleção took place in 2015, a 4-1 Brazil win at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
