UPDATE: (January 17, 1:20 pm ET): Jordan Morris is set to complete a loan deal to Swansea City "in the coming week," according to the latest report from The Athletic. The winger will be the English Championship club's second signing of the winter window, following Ben Hamer's move from Huddersfield.

Seattle Sounders and US men’s national team forward Jordan Morris has emerged as a wintertime loan target for Championship club Swansea City, according to reports Friday from The Athletic and The Telegraph.
Swansea City, where LAFC head coach Bob Bradley briefly managed during their Premier League stay, are second place in England's second tier. That puts the Welsh club in a promotion battle, with the top two teams gaining automatic promotion to the EPL.
Morris, should he indeed head to Swansea City on loan, would give them a final-third boost. The 26-year-old, who turned pro ahead of the 2016 season after playing at Stanford University, has been a wildly-successful homegrown signing. He has 35 goals and 20 assists in 105 MLS games, winning two MLS Cups with Seattle and placing on the league’s 2020 Best XI.
A wide forward who can also play centrally, Morris recently addressed European speculation while with the USMNT at January camp. While nothing was set in stone then, the Sounders’ star certainly left the door open.
“Definitely some conversations are ongoing with Seattle and in Europe a little bit and I think that, for me, it's a similar stance of where I was before MLS Cup: If the right offer and the right team comes forward, it's something that I'd be interested in," Morris said.
Morris, who has 10 goals in 39 USMNT games, was the subject of European speculation before turning pro. He was strongly linked to Bundesliga side Werder Bremen back in 2016, though a formal move to the German club never developed.
Now, reportedly facing newfound interest from a Swansea City side jostling for a Premier League return for the first time since 2017-18, perhaps the timing makes sense. Any departure would create a sizable hole for Seattle, though, especially with how effective he’s become alongside the likes of Raul Ruidiaz and Nicolas Lodeiro.
