Inter Miami CF have been linked to plenty of big-time names during their brief MLS existence, and you can add another one to the list.

According to a report this week from AS.com, Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos is interested in a move to Miami following the 2022 World Cup — a move that would reunite him with former teammate and Miami president and co-owner David Beckham.

It's a long way off, and Ramos would be 37 if the reported timeline winds up holding true, but it in terms of name recognition, it'd be hard to list many defenders in the world who have more of it than Ramos.

The Real Madrid stalwart is considered one of the best defenders of his generation, with 444 appearances for the La Liga giants since his transfer in 2005 and a record 170 caps for the Spanish national team, and has continued to play at an extremely high level into his 30s.

Per the report, Ramos is intent on breaking the record for La Liga appearances of 741 set by Raul — which he is currently short of by 101 — and competing for more titles with Real Madrid, before he would join forces with Beckham in Miami following the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Beckham and Ramos are close friends, having played together at Real Madrid for three seasons from 2005-2007.
