Edison Flores scored in a soccer game in the United States this week, and perhaps there could have been more of that in MLS.

The Peruvian international, who tallied the equalizer in a 1-1 draw against the US national team on Tuesday, confirmed to SBI Soccer's Franco Panizo after the game that prior to his move to Liga MX side Morelia, he fielded interest from a number of unnamed MLS clubs.

“Some clubs showed interest and they are clubs that will still be there next year,” Flores said. “MLS is growing a lot. It’s a very important league and there’s lots of Peruvians coming here.”

Flores, 24, joined Morelia this season after playing for his country at the World Cup in Russia, where Peru caught the imagination of fans around the world with their spirited play after a long drought away from the tournament. Flores has previously played for La Liga side Villarreal's reserve team, as well as Danish outfit Aalborg, among others. While he didn't rule out an eventual move to MLS, he did say in the story he was happy to work hard for Morelia for the time being.
