TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report
Almost a week after FOX Sports commentator Brian Dunseth reported on air that New York Red Bulls center back Aaron Long was drawing transfer offers from abroad, including one from a team in the English Premier League, a couple of reports have indicated where that offer came from and the amount it was for.
Dunseth reported on Saturday that West Ham United have made multiple offers for the 2018 MLS Defender of the Year.
Dylan Butler of ProSoccerUSA later reported that a league source told the outlet the transfer fee was significantly less than the nearly $5 million initially reported by The Athletic. The offer for Long “did not go above $3 million.”
Long has made 11 appearances (all starts) for the Red Bulls this season after playing in every match last year. He is in the starting XI for the Red Bulls' match against Orlando City SC on Sunday night.
