The Montreal Impact front office has reportedly been busy this offseason fielding loan offers for two of their international stars: Didier Drogba and reigning MLS Defender of the Year Laurent Ciman.
According to a report from Goal.com, they also fielded a significant offer to part ways permanently with Argentine playmaker Ignacio Piatti.
Citing a “source,” the report indicated that Montreal turned down a transfer offer from a “Latin American club” in excess of $5 million for Piatti’s services. Piatti is a hot commodity for good reason, having transformed the Impact into a contender since joining the club late in the 2014 season.

He helped lead Montreal to the final of the 2014-15 CONCACAF Champions League this spring before taking the forefront in the Impact's run to the Eastern Conference Semifinals of the Audi 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs, bagging nine goals and eight assists in the regular season.
