TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS:Report
DECEMBER 26: The LA Galaxy have been linked to Peruvian defender Carlos Zambrano, per a Monday report from Seattle-based reporter Niko Moreno.
According to Moreno, who was following Zambrano as a potential transfer target of the Seattle Sounders, it's the Galaxy who have emerged as the MLS frontrunners to land his services.
Zambrano, 30, is currently under contract with Ukrainian side Dynamo Kyiv. The center back has 49 senior caps for the Peruvian national team and was part of Peru's side for the 2019 Copa America.
Should the move come to fruition, it could offer a boon to a Galaxy defense that could use reinforcements. LA shipped 59 goals last season – tying them with the Houston Dynamo and Vancouver Whitecaps for the third-highest total in the Western Conference.
