TRANSFER TRACKER:Report
Houston Dynamo striker Mauro Manotas has been one of the top strikers in MLS over the past couple of seasons and according to ESPN's Kristian Dyer, Liga MX's Cruz Azul have been tracking the Colombian and that he could be a transfer target for the club.
A source close to the situation told MLSsoccer.com that the Dynamo have not considered any offers from the Liga MX side.
This past offseason, Manotas was the subject of transfer speculation from Europe, only for no deal to come to fruition. He also signed a three-year contract, good through the 2021 season, with the Dynamo back in February.
Manotas is said to have a market value in excess of $7 million, but the Dynamo are unlikely to part with the Colombian easily. Manotas, 23, has 41 goals and 11 assists through 112 regular-season matches in MLS, good for roughly a goal every three games.
In 2018, he set a Dynamo single-reason record for goals across all competitions with 25, including a brace as Houston beat the Philadelphia Union for their first U.S. Open Cup title. A former Colombian U-20 forward, Manotas also has two goals through four Concacaf Champions League games.
Manotas moved to Houston for the 2015 season from Uniautonoma, which dissolved from Colombian professional soccer around that time as well.
