Sporting Kansas City midfielder Benny Feilhaber is in “advanced discussions” to sign a pre-contract with a club outside of MLS, according to ESPN FC’s Jeff Carlisle.

Carlisle reported that Feilhaber’s contract with SKC expires at the end of the 2016 MLS season. It was reported last week that Israeli club Hapoel Be’er Sheva tried to acquire Feilhaber via a transfer, but that SKC rejected the offer. A club spokesperson confirmed the offer last week to MLSsoccer.com, but said that the team “weren’t willing to entertain” it.

Carlisle reported on Friday that Hapoel Be’er Sheva offered SKC $500,000 for Feilhaber.

Feilhaber is permitted to sign a pre-contract with any club outside MLS since he is in the last six months of his current deal.

The 31-year-old midfielder, who told The Kansas City Star this week that he’s yet to be offered a new contract by SKC, has six goals and seven assists in 24 regular season appearances this year. The third-place finisher in the 2015 MVP voting, Feilhaber has 23 goals and 32 assists in nearly four full seasons with Kansas City.
