Yamil Asad - Atlanta United - May 28, 2017

TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS:Report

Like all teams currently in their offseason, Atlanta United will have some important personnel decisions to make in the coming days and weeks. One of the most pressing will be whether or not to pick up the loan option of Yamil Asad, one of the team's key attacking cogs from their impressive 2017 debut season.

According to Argentine journalist Gianluca Poggi, Asad is already back in Argentina and awaiting the news on whether or not the Five Stripes will pick up the reportedly $2 million dollar purchase option for Asad from Velez Sarsfield:

Asad's presence in Argentina is not necessarily indicative of what his future may hold – the team wrapped up training on Tuesday and all players were cleared to return home.

The 23-year-old Asad, who lined up primarily on the left wing for Atlanta in 2017, was one of the team's most consistent presences throughout regular season. He appeared in 32 games, starting 31, and delivered on the scoresheet with 7 goals and 13 assists. He also came in at No. 11 in MLSsoccer.com's annual 24 Under 24 rankings. Prior to his arrival in Atlanta, Asad spent his entire career with Velez.

Atlanta already announced their initial offseason roster moves earlier this week, most notably parting ways with veterans Kenwyne Jones and Tyrone Mears.
