TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS:Report
It appears Houston Dynamo star winger Alberth Elis will be remaining in Texas at least until the summer transfer window opens, according to Honduran sports publicaton Diez.
Apparently, Diez reports, the Dynamo and Turkish side Fenerbahce couldn't come to terms on a transfer fee, with the former asking for $8 million and the latter willing to pay only $6 million.
Previously this week, Futbol MLS's Niko Moreno reported the deal was not complete despite suggestions to the contrary.
While the 22-year-old Honduran attacker still appears likely to move to Europe eventually, even a six-month extension of his Houston stay could be beneficial for Dynamo club that begins its season February in the Concacaf Champions League.
A strong performance in that competition, and for Honduras for the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup in June, and Elis and the Dynamo could see his price rise further.
Elis has scored double-digit goals in his two seasons for La Naranja, posting 11 goals and 10 assists in the 2018 campaign. He was originally signed on loan from Liga MX's Monterrey, but was acquired permanently following the 2017 season.
