Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Nick Rimando picked up his third Save of the Week award of the season on Friday, coasting to an easy victory once all the votes were cast.
Rimando – who also won the award in back-to-back weeks to open the season in March – picked up more than 59 percent of the vote in Week 21 for his stop on a low, skipping shot by Colorado’s Deshorn Brown during RSL’s 1-0 win over the Rapids last Saturday.
The win also gave Rimando his 112th career shutout, pushing him into a tie with retired netminder Kevin Hartman for the most shutouts in league history. Rimando will go for the record at home on Saturday against D.C. United (9 pm ET; MLS LIVE).
