Real Salt Lake's nimble veteran netminder snared a league-best five SOTW gongs in 2014, and he's gotten the new year off in similar fashion by edging out Houston Dynamo goalkeeper Tyler Deric for the Week 1 prize.
Rimando earned top honors for his stunning reaction save on Portland Timbers winger Rodney Wallace in Saturday's 0-0 draw at Providence Park, a result created in large part by the RSL goalkeeper's sterling work between the pipes.
Luis Robles finished in third, followed by Clint Irwin and Josh Saunders.
