He only did so by a razor-sharp margin, but Real Salt Lake maestro Javier Morales has claimed the Week 5 AT&T Goal of the Week prize.
Morales' outswinging rocket beat San Jose goalkeeper David Bingham on Sunday, won RSL their second straight match, and now it's edged out the strong contender from Seattle Sounders star Obafemi Martins by barely one percentage point in this week's GOTW poll.
With Martins holding the lead heading into the final day of the race, this one came down to the wire — a useful reminder that every vote counts.
It's the first such honor for Morales since Week 10 of the 2014 season, when he took home the gong for this lovely finish.
