A Colorado Rapids legend is returning for the club’s 25th season in Major League Soccer.
No, not Marcelo Balboa, Conor Casey or Pablo Mastroeni, but someone as equally intertwined in the fabric of the club.
That’s right, RapidMan is back!
One of the league’s most colorful and recognizable mascots, RapidMan has returned from his retirement after 13 years away from the pitch.
Remarkably, RapidMan hasn’t changed a bit — the cool, crisp Rocky Mountain air doing him wonders. He’s kept up his rigorous gym routine and is still jacked as ever.
The Rapids first mascot, RapidMan was the very blue face of the club from 1996 until his retirement on July 4, 2007 when the club held a testimonial match for him at halftime.
His whereabouts since 2007 is largely a mystery, but RapidMan made his triumphant appearance at the club’s 2020 Season Kick Off Party Thursday.
