Portland Timbers striker Fanendo Adi is entering his third season in MLS having won MLS Cup, but he received another career accomplishment on Thursday.
The Nigerian Football Federation announced a 42-player roster for this month's Africa Cup of Nations home-and-away qualifiers against Egypt, and Adi was called up to the Nigerian senior national team for the first time. A former U-23 Nigerian international, Adi is included in new coach Samson Siasia's first squad.
