TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Claimed on waivers
D.C. United announced on Friday they waived goalkeeper Steve Clark, and the Portland Timbers subsequently announced they have acquired Clark off waivers.
Clark, 32, joins the Timbers to provide backup for Jeff Attinella, after Jake Gleeson had surgery to repair stress fractures in his tibia, which was also announced by Portland on Friday.
Clark was in his second season with D.C., making eight appearances in league play in that time. He returned to MLS after a sojourn to Denmark with Horsens, and most notably made his name in American soccer with Columbus Crew SC from 2014-2016, making 100 appearances and helping take Crew SC to the 2015 MLS Cup final, where they lost at home to the Timbers.
