Poll: Which player had the single best season in MLS history?

Fan Poll - 2020 - Vela

With 34 goals and 15 assists last season, LAFC's Carlos Vela had easily the most productive statistical MLS season in history. But was it "the best?"

Quantity doesn't always equal quality, which is why we're asking you the fans to tell us which player's season greatness you think was the best in league history. And there are several worthy candidates:

  • Carlos Vela (2019): 34G/15A in 31 games
  • Sebastian Giovinco (2015): 22G/16A in 33 games
  • Zlatan Ibrahimovic (2019): 30G/7A in 29 games
  • Josef Martinez (2018): 31G/6A in 34 games
  • Chris Wondolowski (2012): 27G/7A in 32 games
  • Robbie Keane (2014): 19G/14A in 29 games
  • Jason Kreis (1999): 18G/15A in 32 games
  • Diego Valeri (2017): 21G/11A in 32 games
  • Cobi Jones (1998): 19G/13A in 24 games
  • Roy Lassiter (1996): 27G/4A in 30 games
  • Stern John (1998): 26G/5A in 27 games
  • Carlos Valderrama (2000): 1G/26A in 32 games

Roy Lassiter set a goal-scoring record that would not be equalled for 15 years. Carlos Valderrama's total of 26 assists might never be matched. And Stern John became the first MLS Golden Boot winner to average more than a goal per 90 minutes.
