Nashville has long been known as Music City. This year, it will also be known for its soccer club, Nashville SC. Their inaugural season will open up against Atlanta United this Saturday (8 pm ET | FOX, MLS LIVE on DAZN in Canada) and ticket sales have already topped 50,000. That’s a sure sign this vibrant city is welcoming the club already.
Nashville's Broadway is one of the most famous live music drags in the country. With live country venues — known as Honky Tonks — lighting up a stretch of street that can be heard for miles, Broadway is a must-see on the list for every tourist who makes the pilgrimage to Music City. Every bar’s band brings a ton of energy, making the street one big party. Bluebird Cafe is essential for visitors, too; it’s just a harder ticket to get. This small venue hosts as many up-and-coming Country stars trying to make a name for themselves as it does established stars looking for an intimate environment to showcase their talents.
Nashville may be most famous for its country music, but it has a rich history that features all genres. Off Broadway and away from the country scene there’s venues in Nashville that attract live acts of all kinds. Among the most famous is The Grand Ole Opry, which has added other genres to its schedule to mix with its deep country roots.
The diversity of Nashville’s music is represented through the playlist that Nashville SC sent our way, embedded below. In true reflection of their city, there's a little bit of everything. And team anthem “Never Give Up on You” by Judah & the Lion hits the perfect balance, hinting at country roots and acknowledging the melting pot of genres Nashville has become.
Nashville is an enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate city, and, starting Saturday, the locals are definitely going to welcome Nashville SC with open arms.
